  1. Safety Responsibilities

Supervisors are responsible to ensure:

  • That a Safe Work Permit is issued and Hazard Assessments are performed prior to starting the work activity;

  • The health and safety of workers and visitors on the work site;

  • That workers are properly trained to perform their job and are aware of their responsibilities;

  • Compliance with government regulations, industry standards, and company guidelines;

  • Appropriate tools and safety equipment are supplied, used, and maintained in a safe manner;

  • Workers use required safety and personal protective equipment;

  • Workers are aware of their right to refuse unsafe work;

  • Unsafe conditions/acts are to be corrected immediately; and

  • Workers are informed of what is expected of them

Workers are responsible to:

  • Comply with requirements of Safe Work Permit;

  • Protect the health and safety of themselves and other personnel on site;

  • Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment;

  • Abide by all government regulations and company policies, procedures or standards;

  • Report accidents and potential hazards to their supervisors;

  • Refuse to work under unsafe conditions or perform work for which they are not adequately trained; and

  • Correct unsafe conditions/acts immediately
